Education Safety and Security Watch Group (ESSWG) Network and Launch 2026

Posted On: July 20, 2026

Birmingham Academy was honoured to attend the Education Safety and Security Watch Group (ESSWG) Network & Launch 2026, organised by the Singapore Police Force (SPF) Central Division.

The event brought together representatives from educational institutions across Singapore to strengthen collaboration in promoting student safety, youth crime prevention, and a secure learning environment.

As a pioneer member of the ESSWG, Birmingham Academy was presented with a Certificate of Recognition in appreciation of our commitment to supporting youth safety initiatives and fostering a safe educational community.

The event also provided valuable insights into upcoming ESSWG initiatives, as well as opportunities to network with fellow educators, community partners, and government agencies. Participants visited interactive exhibition booths showcasing crime prevention resources, safety initiatives, and educational programmes that support schools in safeguarding students.

At Birmingham Academy, the safety and well-being of our students remain a top priority. We are proud to partner with the Singapore Police Force and other stakeholders in building a safe, supportive, and resilient learning environment for all.

We would like to thank the Singapore Police Force Central Division for organising this meaningful event and look forward to contributing to future ESSWG initiatives.

Testimonials

"When I first came to Birmingham Academy, I do not have a great impression as the academy wasn't very big. I was thinking of transferring school but decided to try for a week. It was amazing. The lecturers are very professional and experience. I learnt a lot from them. The student welfare was delighted and it makes me really at ease in a foreign country. What surprise me is that when I try to check the value of the Diploma awarded by Birmingham Academy by applying for a job, I was shortlisted for the job. I'm happy I got a proper and recognised academy to study. I will be more than willing to recommend an international student to study here."

Diploma in Business Management

Placed to Catholic High School, Secondary 1: "I studied at Birmingham Academy to prepare for the SPERS-SEC exam in 2025. I really enjoyed my lessons there. The teachers are very kind and patient. When I did not understand something, they explained it to me slowly and clearly. They also gave me a lot of practice, which helped me feel more confident. Before the exam, I was a bit nervous, but my teachers encouraged me and told me to believe in myself. Because of their help, I passed the SPERS-SEC exam and got admission to Catholic High School in 2026. I was very happy and proud. Thank you, Birmingham Academy, for helping me achieve my goal. I will always remember my time there."
