Notice: Shop Theft

1. Police have alerted Birmingham Academy to a theft case involving Birmingham’s student.

2. On 11 July 2023, Police received a report of theft in Mustafa Centre located at 145 Syed Alwi Road. Preliminary investigation revealed that a student from your school had stolen electronic accessories.

3. Retailers deploy the below measures to deter theft and offender will be caught.
a) Multiple CCTVs with active monitoring.
b) Shop staff and security officers actively look out for shoplifters.

4. We would like to seek your assistance to stay away from crime. The Police take a serious view on theft offence and offenders will be dealt with firmly in accordance with the law.

5. The offence of theft-in-dwelling under Section 380 of the Penal Code 1871 carries a jail term of up to 7 years and/or a fine.
