Investment scams remain the highest loss scam type, with about $336.2 million lost in 2025.
Red flags include:
- High returns with little or no risk
- Pressure to act quickly (limited-time offers, gifts, rebates)
- Fake credentials, testimonials, or success stories
Protect yourself:
- Check MAS registers before investing
- Understand how returns are generated
- Only deal with regulated entities
📧 Fake School Fee Requests
Scammers may impersonate schools to request urgent payment via email.
Stay safe:
- Do not click unknown links or QR codes
- Verify all payment requests directly with the institution
- Be cautious of urgency or threats
📞 Fake Friend / Impersonation Scams
Scammers may pose as friends or even government officials to request money transfers.
Remember:
- Do not transfer money to unverified contacts
- Always verify identities through another channel
- Government officials will never ask for money transfers
⚠️ SEXUAL CRIME AWARENESS
