Safety Advisory: Parcel Delivery Phishing Scams
Safety Advisory: Parcel Delivery Phishing Scams
Stay Vigilant Against Parcel Delivery Phishing Scams
The Singapore Police Force has alerted the public to a rise in phishing scams involving text messages and emails impersonating courier companies such as Ninja Van and J&T Express.
In these scams, victims receive a message claiming that their parcel could not be delivered and are instructed to click a link to arrange a re-delivery. The link leads to a fraudulent website that requests a small “re-delivery fee” (sometimes as little as S$0.06) and prompts victims to enter their credit or debit card details.
Once these details are provided, scammers may make unauthorised transactions using the victim’s card.
Since 24 June 2026, at least 43 cases have been reported, with total losses exceeding S$259,000.
How to Protect Yourself
- Access your courier’s official website or mobile app directly instead of clicking links in unsolicited text messages or emails.
- Never enter your banking or card details through links received in unexpected messages.
- Verify the delivery status through the courier’s official channels if you are expecting a parcel.
- Enable your mobile phone’s international call and SMS blocking features where available to reduce scam messages.
Birmingham Academy encourages all students, staff, and members of the public to remain vigilant against phishing scams and to verify any suspicious messages before taking action.
