Crime Prevention Advisory: Failure to report Change of Residential Address
Crime Prevention Advisory: Failure to report Change of Residential Address
Dear Students,
On 23 May 2023, as reported by CNA on 24 May 2023, a Singaporean Man fined S$2,000 for failing to report change in residential address.
Birmingham Academy would like to reiterate that all Student’s Pass holders, under regulation 8(5)(b) of Immigration Act, you shall notify ICA if there is any change in your place of residence within 14 days of the change. You shall report a change of address online through your school or local sponsor via e-Update of Address. This change of address regulation also applied to all Singaporean.
Do ensure that your current address is updated with the School and ICA.
We also received feedback from ICA on a student failing to update his/her address. A fake address was even provided to ICA by a student. Birmingham takes a very serious stand on this, and student found not adhering to the regulation maybe suspended for a period of at least 6 months or expelled from his/her course.
